S Seaside

Lagoons in Cote d'Ivoire are among the most beautiful in the sub-region with 500 km of coastline. To the large hotel complexes of Assinie are added those of Assouinde, Grand-Bassam, Grand Lahou, San Pedro, Grand Bereby, suitable for many recreational activities: sport fishing at sea in Abidjan, San Pedro’s marlin Blue, tuna and shark fishing, etc. Behind the sandy coastline which stretches from Fresco in the south-west to the Ghanaian border in the south-east, there is a network of lagoons located in the south of the country which is separated from the sea by a coastal strip whose width varies from 800 meters to a few kilometers. Economical and practical means of communication, these lagoons are protected from beachcombers continuously breaking along the coast and offer 12,000 km² exploitable at multiple ends. Formerly a center of attraction for Ivorian foreign trade, they are today a pole of safe tourist attraction and  tourist developments of seaside type.
